High metal yield
With an output of around 98 percent MetalLine induction crucible furnaces are the preferred solution when it comes to ferrous and non-ferrous metal applications for melting chips and swarf. The furnaces achieve such a high level of productivity by means of the desired agitation of the molten bath and the high installed power density. IAS offers crucible furnace plants with a capacity of between 10 and 30,000 kg.
Clean melting of oily swarf
The problem: When melting oily swarf the residual oil is burnt off and contaminates the extraction system; in addition, slag adheres to the furnace walls, resulting in a continual reduction in performance and considerable time and costs associated with cleaning. IAS has developed an efficient solution for this very problem: a charging system which can be finely adjusted combined with an intelligent control system and state-of-the-art IGBT converter.
Intelligent feeding system
The wet, oily swarf is fed into a centrifuge, where the oil content is reduced to around 2%. This then prevents metal losses as a result of the swarf being burnt. What's more, the oil can be reused. The dried swarf is subsequently fed into a melting furnace via a swarf container.
Efficient energy control system
The IAS control system ensures the thermal energy is precisely adjusted to the charged volume of swarf and the bath agitation. For this a host of process parameters is taken into account, in order to achieve the ideal process parameters using fast-reacting IGBT converters.
