PT Indonesia Aluminium Alloy (PT IAA), which was established on May 22, 2020, is a company engaged in the midstream and downstream sectors of the aluminium industry. As a subsidiary of PT Indonesia Asahan Aluminum (Persero) or INALUM, PT IAA will produce secondary aluminium billets with a printing capacity of 50,000 tonnes per year in stages and in the future, will produce various extruded aluminium products as their derivative products.

The establishment of PT IAA is one of INALUM's strategies in order to increase production capacity through the Kuala Tanjung smelter development project in accordance with the mandate of Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 3 of 2016 regarding the Acceleration of Implementation of National Strategic Projects. In addition, according to the mandate of the shareholders to MIND ID, INALUM, through PT IAA, must also carry out a product downstream programme in order to increase revenue and EBITDA. The establishment of PT IAA was marked by the acquisition by INALUM of the assets of PT Asahan Aluminium Alloys on October 9, 2019.

In an effort to realise the shareholders' mandate and the purpose of establishing the company, PT IAA targets the full operation of the secondary aluminium billet production facility in the fourth quarter of 2022, with both domestic and global market targets. For this reason, a series of works on revamping existing assets were carried out so that they could be operated to produce secondary aluminium billets.
